QF major candidacy also requires a one-time participation in each of three Computing Workshops A, B, and C during academic residence. The workshop series A, B, and C carry themes covering respectively (A) Pricing Derivatives and Risk Hedging (B) Introduction to C++ and (C) Fixed Income Modeling. Some of the computing exercises would involve the use of financial data-feed with an innovative experience. Students should preferably have completed FNCE101 before participating in the workshops.
The workshops will carry exercises that are examinable and will count toward a weight of about 20%-30% in the QF304 grade. Only students who intend to study QF as a major and who are taking or have taken any of the QF series will be given places for this workshop.
